Wine Walks in Villeneuve-Minervois

Just 15 minutes north east of Carcassonne lies the traditional winemaking village of Villeneuve-Minervois, and the hearth and heart of Vin en Vacances. Famed not only for its working windmill, locally grown olives and the crystal-clear waters of the Clamoux river, Villeneuve Minervois is also renowned for its black truffles known locally as black diamonds.

In this village you will find our tasting and dining room which is set inside a on old and beautifully restored winery, aptly named L’Ancienne Cave.

We invite you to spend a little time with us in our lovely village and in the vineyards that surround it, away from the crowds and in the peace of the countryside and enjoying some tranquil moments amongst nature. Our wine walks take you on unmapped walks through vineyards, olive groves and across pine covered hills with a backdrop of the Pyrenees on one side and the Montagne Noire on the other. The vineyards are a short walk from our doorstep and along the way we will pass the working windmill that produces organic flour and a little further on is an olive farm nestling below the foothills of the mountains.

By your side will be one of the Vin en Vacances team who will guide you through this treasure trove landscape to learn about the indigenous and newcomer grape varieties and how they are grown and cared for. Afterwards you will return to the tasting room at L’Ancienne Cave to taste our carefully selected range of Languedoc wines produced by talented and passionate people and understand the transformation from sun ripened grape to delicious wine accompanied by some tasty local food.

We have 3 wine walks to offer you – find out more below
